Website Improvements!
SPEED! One of the reasons the system would become bogged down before is because ALL the information was being downloaded every time you clicked on the art & quotes tab. With Studio 3.0, a preview of each collection/category is displayed, but not downloaded until you click on that collection/category. In the art tab - the "P" in the left hand corner indicates the art work belongs to the premier collection. Use the home button to clear any previous searches.
You can upload photos while working on projects! Open the photos tab, select the photo album you want to add photos to, scroll down to the bottom of the album list and you'll see an option to upload photos! This is a wonderful feature! I can't tell you how many times I've wanted just one more photo in a project and had to back out of the project, upload the photo and get back into the project - huge time saver!
Heritage Makers now needs to store a little more on clients home pcs/mac to help increase speed. The adobe flash player will pop up and ask to store an "unlimited" amount on your computer – rest assured this is due to the fact that adobe doesn't have a default setting for the amount (I believe it is less than 20MB?) Heritage Makers needs. The current defaults are something like, 5, 10, 15 & unlimited. Let me know if you have questions on this.
BASIC art… not so BASIC! The home office is adding premier quality art to the basic art category! If you currently have a basic membership, I’d encourage you to take a look at the new art collections that will be available mid-July. Over 150 backgrounds, and 4 alphabet styles will be added! Templates with this art will be in the Template Gallery soon! New art will be added to basic art once a quarter, but you can look for second addition in September!

2009 Family Year Book made easy!
Memories fade - pictures don't
I want to share with you how I've been preserving my families memories this past year. At the end of every month I sit down with my family calendar and open my 12x12 family book in my unfinished projects. I title a page the name of that month, drag up a text box and journal all the things that happened. This often prompts memories of cute things my kids have done and said as well. When I'm finished writing I save & quit - without adding any photos. My thought is - the pictures will always be there, but the memories won't. I've even cut and pasted some excerpts from Joe's preschool teacher's emails updating us on how is doing.
A few months ago when I started to add my photos on my January pages, I read what I had written and was amazed at how much I had forgotten is such little time. I'd like to encourage everyone to take time to think about how you can better preserve you families memories in the new year.
